About Me

I’m Laura, I grew up in New Jersey and no matter where I go I will always be a Jersey girl at heart. And no, not the fist pumping Jersey Shore type of girl. I’m the girl who wants to see the world through a local’s eyes and eat food I’ve never heard of and try things that may seem completely different to my own culture.

But I struggle with anxiety and at times it has held me back from seeing the beautiful world we live in. I’ve had to push myself through discomfort, shame and fear to continue traveling. I had my first taste of traveling abroad in 2007 when I went to Europe alone for twenty days. Yes, alone. Well sort of. (It was a group tour). After that trip, I vowed to myself to never stop traveling because it changes you. You see the world in a different light.

I’m addicted to meeting new people and blending in like a local to gain perspective through their eyes. And because of that, I am able to start on a clean slate each time I travel to a new place. Over the years, I’ve learned to use my soul as my inner compass and embrace my anxiety. I listen to what my body tells me and trust my intuition. I’ve had many experiences that happened on a whim of intuition and turned out to be a priceless experience, like staying at a hostel in Switzerland for twenty days and meeting new people everyday who I’m still friends with.

It’s moments where no picture, or video can capture what I feel. It’s “You just had to be there.” I cherish and chase moments like that because they are rare and give me perspective.

A nomadic lifestyle requires spiritual growth whether you ask for it or not. Being a Spiritual Nomad isn’t an easy path to go down but as travelers we continuously seek even when we are afraid. And the reward is grand.

I share my struggles, love, fears and almost everything that happens on my travels. We Jersey girls tell it like it is. So embark on this journey with me as my soul guides me to travel the world.
